Pattern

of Sorraia Breed


The pattern presented here is described in the Stud Book of the Race Sorraia.

1. TYPE

Profile subconvexilineo, eumétrico and mediolíeno. Animals about wading in space-saving bone but of very good texture. Poor muscle. When lean take the form Mulina and when round fat.


2. AVERAGE HEIGHT TO GAROTTE

As with hipometer in adult animals:
Females: 1.44M
Males: 1,48m


3. COAT

Varies from bay (brown yellow) light to roasted bay, or mouse (brown rat) light to dark mouse, always with mule list. It's kind of gateado or zebra cables and sometimes other parts of the body. Bicolored mane and bushy with dark hairs on the middle line and body color on the outer part. Tail also bicolor, forming a tassel at its base. Ends (tips of ears, nose, and members) always in dark tone.


4. TEMPERAMENT

Aloof in thinning, it becomes meek and tolerant at work. Reacts with agility and finesse the rider's aids. It is sometimes refreshing. The whole male, though gentle, has a lot of liveliness.


5. MOVEMENTS

They are correct, not too long or skipped. They are rounded but not very high. Remarkable speeds may be maintained for a long period.


6. FITNESS

Saddle and small agricultural work.


7. HEAD

Rectangular and drought, subconvex profile, sharply sloping skull to the face, which is quite long. Expressive eyes, placed in elliptical orbit later truncated and situated above the occipital-incisive line. The ears are on the long, dry and mobile deployment somewhat delayed due to the cranial inclination.


8. NECK

Properly inserted, slender, medium length, reversed in lean animals, store fat for times of famine, causing it to turn and appear rotated in fat animal.


9. WITHERS

Well defined and very extensive binds almost the middle of the back by a smooth line.


10. CHEST

Not very wide but muscular. The cilhadouro is well situated under the seladouro. The chest is deep and not too wide.


11. RIBCAGE

It is extensive and consists of flat and long ribs that well garrison flank.


12. SHOULDERS

Medium length, are dry and relatively oblique.


13. BACK

It's short, horizontal and highlighted the ribs.


14. RIM

It is short, wide and convex and is in harmony without rebound, the croup.


15. CROUP

Wide and medium length and elliptical shape, revealing the protruding sacred crest with subconvexo profile.


16. FOREQUARTERS

• Bone Light, but Upright.
• harmoniously inclined arms.
• Forearm Upright and very muscular.
• Knees shapely, dry and little bulky.
• slightly long Canelas, dry, with well detached tendons with absence of at remontante.
• Boletos little bulky, almost without runts
• pasterns on the long, sloping smoothly.
• Hooves shapely, neat, slight appearance and mud of good quality.


17. HINDQUARTERS

• Light bone and muscle, but well made.
• hocks shapely.
• Canelas, slips, pasterns and hoofs as the forelimbs.
